Nokia, Statoil and Nestlé – flagship employers
The week of the UNIVERSUM Awards
This week we hosted the UNIVERSUM Awards in Finland, Switzerland and Norway and announced the results of our employer image surveys, conducted among students studying at the top universities. It came as no surprise that Norway’s flagship company Statoil won the title as Norway’s Ideal Employer 2011 for both business and engineering students. In Switzerland, however, the picture was different. Students of various study backgrounds had dissimilar favourites – Nestlé was first for business, whereas it was ABB for engineers, Novartis for natural sciences and Google for IT. Finland followed the same pattern and didn’t have one overall top employer. Interestingly, despite all the hardships the Finnish company has recently experienced, Nokia won the title as Finland’s Ideal Employer 2011 among business students. The company has not, however, managed to get the top spots for engineering and IT students, but it still a strong employer of choice, coming at 2nd and 4th place respectively.
