Title: Manager, Universum Online Europe
Education: Master’s degree in Business, from universities in Brazil (ESPM) and Sweden (Stockholm School of Economics)
First job after graduation: Marketing assistant at BMC Sofware, in São Paulo.
My background: Grown up in Santos the coast of Brazil, born from Italian/Lebanese parents…Moved to London when I was 20, met a charming Swedish guy that made me end up moving to Sweden in 2002 – where I am still today!
Today I’m going to …make sure we are keeping track of the time plan to launch a new site in Sweden, exchange ideas and activities in our department meeting, brainstorm ideas to sites coming in three other European countries this Spring. In the evening, the gym is waiting, it is Monday ;)
A typical day at Universum is….full of ideas, energy and many times surprises.
What is exciting about my job?
I could start the online department in Europe from zero, in a time Universum mainly focused on print materials. We had to think out of the box, create new offers and way of developing this side of Universum. Every day, my team and I talk about new ideas on doing our sites and usually come up with really innovative ways to doing things – and these ideas brings us a lot of energy and motivation to put them into practice as soon as possible.
Why do I like working for Universum?
The fantastic colleagues that we have, the international environment, the great trust and responsibility that are given early on in the career, and the fact that most things happen very fast make me really enjoy working here.
What are my future plans in the company?
Difficult to say since things here can change quite fast. I really enjoy my work today, but going back to Brazil with work some day would be a great future plan ;)
What is the Universum culture?
Global, dynamic, driven, social…and impatient.
What does a typical career look like with us?
You start young, get a lot of responsibility, and if you deliver good results and fit in the company culture, there are actually no limits – you can work with a number of different departments and projects, in many different countries as you move forward at Universum.
